They call me

The weeping willow

But I’m not sad at all

I’m loose and free

Swaying in the breeze

Branches drooping

To kiss the river

For we are One

They call me

The weeping willow

But I’m not sad at all

I’m kind and caring

To those who visit

Weaving and spinning

A home of their own

For we are One

They call me

The weeping willow

But I’m not sad at all

I’m strong and grounded

Sending roots deep

To bind sandy soil

In tight embrace

For we are One

They call me

The weeping willow

But I’m not sad at all

I’m proud and graceful

Cloaked in golden fleece

Gifted by the sun

My artist friend

For we are One

They call me

 The weeping willow

But I’m not sad at all

I’m alive and life-giving

In my shade sits a man

Telling my story

Breathing my air

For we are One
